Since the N900 has 256MB and up to 1GB virtual, the amount of physical RAM in use at startup is very important.
If it turns out the OS and default apps are chewing up 240MB, you can still run apps but the OS will start reading from C:\ like crazy once you go over 256MB. The battery would probably start to drain like crazy.
Would Nokia dare to do this to us? A battery test is the only thing stopping me pre-ordering this.
